Count those beans again please.

Has the financial department of the rental office ever fouled up your account?

This seems to be a reoccurring theme that I am hearing about A LOT! In this economy, this really hits to the heart of some of the dysfunction here at JCY. There are people struggling to make it from month to month (and some who are not) and fouling up their account is just unacceptable. IOW... don't mess with my money homey!!

It is human to make mistakes occasionally, yet my mail tells me that this happens not infrequently.

Tell me about your experiences with this matter.

ALL.THE.TIME!!! They once credited my rent check to another apartment's account. Last month, they lost one of our checks (we send them 2) and told us to put a stop payment on the one they lost. After a long convo with Osmond about it, we got the credits back on our account, but I also took the liberty of e-mailing the Greystar emails that are on this site. I let them know that if it's too much labor and too many errors to process our checks manually, we should be able to have free electronic payments for rent and water. No response on that...

  2. Yeah. After they couldn't find a check that I put in the rent box, I was told that my rent was late. They suggested I pay it online for "convenience" but I don't find it very convenient to pay $45 extra. The next day they apparently found the check because it was cashed and I didn't hear from them again.

  3. Ha! YES! What a joke the leasing office is fouling up a number of tenant leases. This makes me very nervous how they're mishandling our personal information. This is not only a financial issue, but privacy issue that we should be concerned with.

  4. Good Point Anony 6:20. This is a security issue. The management has a good deal of our personal information and if they're not careful or diligent enough, someone could get a hold of it.

  5. This has got to be a violation of landlord/tenant laws. The mismanagement of our leases is absolutely insane. I'm sure there is a fine involved here. Perhaps a fine would whip management into shape?

  6. Does anyone else have a lease that is signed by the Jefferson Management? I do not. I was wondering if this is a normal thing for them.

  7. My lease has a signature on it, but it's not from the woman who leased me my apartment, it was from someone else in the office. I also had to ask several times for a copy of my lease.

JSM3, you should ask for a copy. I pestered them for mine after I moved in and finally stood there while one of them copied it....I will say I don't have a current lease anymore though. When it expired, I offered to sign another but they never got one together. I think this is common with them as well. But I ask you, do I still need to pay their new prices even though I haven't signed off on a new lease?

  9. No problems with our rent checks being cashed. Pay on time and in full, then you won't have an issue. It's not all management's responsibility...there is personal responsibility also.

  10. BTW, if the rental office wants to post here, they should identify themselves as such. When you send off multiple emails, you should leave some time in-between posts more than the amount it takes to write the email.

  11. Anony at 1:59 -- so lame that you (management) posts on here in defense of yourself. Lame.

  12. sending off multiple emails...hmm, could it be that I'm catching up on the blog and responding to the posts. We (couple) have lived on the 8th floor since July 2009...not management (pay too low and would have to deal with anonymous bloggers masking as dead presidents)...this is one of the best conspiracy blogs around!

  13. Thank you Jay. Yes! We do pride ourselves on being "one of the best conspiracy blogs around!" Sorry about the misrepresentation your post.

PS. How do you know for sure that I'm not a REAL dead president though?

  14. There's a financial department down there? Or are you referring to those bimbos that work in the office??
