The More things Change...

I received this email today. Sorry to say it sounds like it was delivered a year ago.

I moved in 3 weeks ago and its a nightmare. Dog feces left in the hallway and the concierge refused to do anything about it, its like a frat house with people shouting and running up and down the hallways into the early hours EVERY night.
The tenants are awful and the management don't even care. I cannot wait for the lease to finish.

Return of the Menu Ninja's

Three of them just today! How does this continue to happen? Come on front desk. Step it up!

I think because the front desk is often unattended, and because people continue to let strangers in the building, these sly devils continue to infiltrate our perimeters.
Look folks, just because someone is coming in to deliver food it doesn't make them "OK." John Wayne Gacey and Ted Bundy delivered Chinese food too!! Ok I don't know that for a fact, but they could have.

Obviously these ninja's come very well prepared to paper the hallways with menus, so they aren't just innocent delivery people... THEY HAVE AN AGENDA!!! : 0

Today's Ninja's were brought to you by: MaxiMaids, Healthy Bites, and Mehak Indian Restaurant (Repeat offender).

I love healthy bites. You get $15 off your first order of $100 or more. Man that is some take out freight! $100.00 for dinner. I wonder if that includes wine? Do the people in this building really make THAT much money?

Whoops!

Seriously. I think if my dog took a massive whizz in the elevator like this one, I would come back with some paper towel and clean it up. Wouldn't you?

Capitol Riverfront Market

Have you had a chance to check out the Capitol Riverfront Market near the Navy Yard Metro on the New Jersey avenue side yet? It opened on the 6th of May and is in operation every Thursday until November 18.

For those of you desiring/requiring fresh produce and locally made foods, this is a great addition to the neighborhood. It would be great if it were open on the weekend, but I guess that might encroach upon Eastern Market.

You can also find a smaller open air market near Starbucks on Tuesday's

Last Exit.

Does anyone else find the garage dangerous to exit due to the cars parked up to the mouth of the garage drive? You can hardly see cars come flying up the righthand lane.
Be very careful!!

Waste Management?

I'm wondering if it would be too much to ask for the building to consider picking up recycling on each floor. I realize this creates more work for the maintenance staff, but really, isn't that a reasonable amenity to expect in a luxury building? There's nothing luxurious about carrying beer bottles, cat food cans, and diaper boxes down as many as twelve floors to visit the loading dock...as luxurious as it is.

I'm just saying...c'mon management. How about it?

Carryout Ninja's invade the building

Every month or so I get several menus slipped under my door from a Chinese, Indian, or pizza carryout. It's always the same ones and I really don't need multiple copies, so what I'm wondering is...how do they get here?

Is the front office delivering them? I doubt it. If not, then it must be the carryout person. Is it being done surreptitiously or with the knowledge of the rental office?

In any event, maybe the carryout would spend less on menu printing if it were to just leave some in the mail room or other strategically placed area. Then those that want them can pick them up and we don't have strange people walking around the building.

Perhaps the building might create such an area, where announcements, freebies, whatever, can be offered. I know such things can get out of hand and messy, but if the concierge were to place them, they could keep the area neat and current. Just a thought.

Problems with your air?

Here a note from the folks in the leasing office.

If you are having a problem with your AC, please put a service request in with the leasing office and the maintenance team will be up to take a look.

Thanks,
Management

The rental office is putting together a kickball league, and while they are still in the process of organizing it, they invite tenants to contact them with any questions, to express interest, or better yet, if you would like to volunteer, email them at capitolyardskickball@gmail.com.

Sounds like a great time. Give the office a call or stop by and tell them you're interested!

Subterranean Dumbass blues

I'm not sure the people I'm talking to are bright enough to be able to read this but...driving in the garage like a bat out of hell is, well...really stupid. And you know what Forrest Gump said..not the box of chocolate thing, the other one.
OH YEAH...stupid is as stupid does!

Use a little common sense and be careful how you drive in the garage. Don't come tooling around the corners like you're trying to get somewhere to have a peegasm.

If you see someone driving stupidly, report their tag number to the front office. I'm sure they're not interested in having a homicide in the building. I would hope at that point that management would have a word with the offender.

What's the condition of your air conditioning?

Has anyone been experiencing issues with their air conditioning? I've received a couple emails with some concern about their individual unit. Mine seems to be working, but I did notice the building being rather stale and muggy when I left this AM.

Hit The Road Jack!

This was sent to our email address. I guess it refers to the fight that occurred...

To help put people's minds at ease...the tenant who had the guests who were responsible for the incident is no longer living in the building.
