A message from the management office

Hi. I wanted to email you in response to the broken window. Please know that this window is on order. The resident that recently moved out broke it when they were moving. We anticipate the glass to arrive this week.

I do appreciate the comments and feedback regarding alcohol at the pool. It was a hard decision for us to make because we more than anything want everyone to be happy here. Unfortunately some took advantage of the situation and acted irresponsibly. Please note that these situations that we are made ware of are handled appropriately and directly with the individuals involved. We do not just allow this type of behavior. While it seems like the easy answer is to just evict the violators, it is not that simple. DC has very strict regulations and procedures regarding evictions. Nevertheless, we are taking the necessary steps in that direction. Legal notices have been sent to certain individuals. It is my hope with the no alcohol policy being enforced, more of our residents will be able to enjoy the rooftop without having to worry about encountering inappropriate behavior. Please feel free to call me or email me with any other questions that you might have.

Thanks,

  1. Tough pill for those of us who follow the rules to swallow, but thanks, I suppose, for finally dealing with this.

  2. the "no alcohol" policy on the roof is ridiculous - it's using a sledgehammer instead of a scalpel. i'm fine with enforcing the no glass around the pool area - but the entire rooftop area is not the pool area.

get rid of the troublemakers and let the rest of live as the grownups we are...now i can't even have a beer with my steak down by the grills? asinine

  3. Well if the "no alcohol" rule is enforced as much as any other rule is around here, then I guess nothing's changed.

Rules can be written down on paper as much as they want. But the simple fact is, once you get past the front desk, it's the Wild West.

  4. The sad part is many residents do not even seem to need alcohol to be obnoxious to other residents. Just go into the gym around 7pm most evenings and the occupants are split down the middle. First, the considerate types who will work out on equipment that no one else is using, secondly, the alpha types who throw towels and personal possessions over/on the machines to dominate the equipment they want to use wether it screws up peoples work outs or not.

Just a few weeks ago such a guy had towels over 3 pieces of equipment, and as he was not using them for upto 10 mins apart each time I asked if I could use one and was literally screamed at.

Another guy (bald) comes in each week to do his kettle bell training, throws his training manuals all over the machines so you cant use them and stands in the middle of the carpet with the weights all around him so you have to walk the long way round to get to anything. He walks in, puts on the heavy metal station and turns the volume upto full so it's hard to focus, and then after his work out stands in front of the mirror doing his shadow boxing looking like a complete idiot and stopping people from getting to the weights. If you try to lower the volume or ask him to move his manuals he just speaks to you in a hostile fashion.

    Sick of this place.

  5. I also think management has adopted a "no cleaning rule" as this place is filthy. Hallways never vacuumed - NEVER. Did you know that there is only one cleaning lady for our entire building?? I've lived in buildings much smaller than this with an entire team of cleaning people. This poor woman has to tackle it all by herself, while management stands by and talks on the phone, does everything to avoid interacting with tenants, and twiddles their thumbs. Useless.

Sick of this place as well.

  6. I've yet to see any cleaning person in the building other than Melina, who is always friendly, courteous, and professional. She is one of the true assets to this building. This is huge building to have to clean by oneself. She must be exhausted at the end of the day. Say hi to her when you see her. She has a lovely smile and is ALWAYS friendly.

Please also remember her during the holidays. I believe she has at least one daughter.

  7. She is so sweet. It's unfortunate management doesn't buck up and fork over the money it would take to support her and clean our apartment building. Our rent is WAY to high to not have proper cleaning. Management - DO SOMETHING!!
